My October

I may be biased, but I think New England is one of the best places on this earth to be in October. Cheryl Wheeler thinks so, too. So, please give a listen to her song and enjoy Bob Breno’s imovie images, plus some of my past autumnal photographic forays around the places I have lived and loved. I love autumn in New England more than ever now after breast cancer.

Peace, health and good harvest to you all.

  1. Beautiful! Almost makes me want to move back to the east coast – thanks for the post, Kathi

  2. Except for the hurricanes and blizzards and flooding rains, Deanna, it’s a great place to live!! LOL.

  3. Thanks for this, Kathi. Living in Texas I miss fall terribly.

  4. Jody, if I stay away from the stores to avoid the pink shit, it’s incredibly healing around here right now. The color is only just beginning at the edges, but the pumpkins are in their patches & corn is in the fields & the sky is blue & the air is perfect. I can walk to most of the places in these photos from my house. And believe me, I’m very grateful for that. Next October, maybe you can come visit. The guest room awaits. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Just gorgeous Kathi….I think I’d like to live in that little red farmhouse .xxx Rach ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Beautiful, Kathi. Just beautiful. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year.

  7. Rach, that red farmhouse was the home of local artist Gilbert Stuart, who was perhaps most famous in his lifetime for the portraits he painted of George and Martha Washington. It’s now a museum, not far from where I live. There’s a separate millhouse as well, and a millrace and caretaker’s house, and a small river running though the property. When you come up for a visit, we’ll go check it out together, okay? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Kathi, these are just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing stunning pictures with us. And they don’t have to be pink. I agree with you that there is nothing more beautiful than New England at the peak of its autumn glory.

  9. Oh my gosh, Kathi!! This is such a beautiful post, love the pictures!! They uplifted me and remind us all that October is beautiful.
